The Role of ERG Executive Sponsors

Executive Sponsors (Sponsors) have a critical role to play to support your Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and deliver on your Diversity & Inclusion objectives. But they also have roles which mean they have limited time - and are not always immersed in the day to day of your D&I activities.

​

Sponsors can play a range of roles, including;

​

  • Coaching to help ERG Leaders excel

  • Stress-testing plans and harnessing resources

  • Using their influence to build awareness, remove barriers and rive change

Supporting your Sponsors to be at their best

Whilst sponsors are typically experienced leaders, but have not always engaged with ERGs or explored what being an ‘ally’ or coach means to them. We also know their diary demands can be challenging.
​​
We offer targeted in-house ERG Sponsor sessions (typically 30 minutes, twice a year) to give Sponsors the key insight and models they need to be effective. These also provide them with space to discuss and reflect with peers, whilst coaching them to be effective Sponsors and allies.
